My Nutritional Story

The school years of 2013/2014 and the 2014/2015 ones I recall being especially tough for us! I remember those years feeling that I spent most of it at the doctor’s office in the waiting room looking for antibiotics to clear up whatever infection we had going on at the time. Typically, it was for sinus, ear or chest infection of some sorts! During those years my boys were in either pre-school or kindergarten probably not washing their hands very much, putting all kinds of fingers & toys in their mouth, eyes & nose causing them to be sick ALL the time…and I thought this was normal!
In 2015, I was working at a clinic with a Naturopath and I recall her saying to me that my kids really shouldn’t be sick this much & that I should bring them in to see her, so I did. I received a lot of nutritional counselling from her on top of what I had already received from school, but what I ended up learning was quite a surprise! You see, I was so focused on my children that I neglected to look at myself and how I was feeling and making sure that I was taking care of me!
It was during this time that the ND I was working with and my family doctor believed that I was suffering from an underactive thyroid. My weight was fluctuating, which I thought was stress related. My hair was falling out to the point that I was literally going bald on both sides of my temples, which I also believed was stress related. And, I was exhausted, which I believed to be a normal side effect of being a mom, wife, friend, and all around super woman, because as a woman these days we are expected to be able to do it all and look awesome while doing it! So I believed that everything I was going through was normal and didn’t think much of it. Looking back now, I wish I had taken better care of myself, but then I wouldn’t have my story to share with all of you if I didn’t.
I spent the better part of a year trying to get mine and my families nutritional habits back on track. We removed dairy. We removed gluten. Removed caffeine. Eggs were out, eggs were in. I was on the wagon feeling great, then we would fall off the wagon and start feeling like poop again! I went through a roller coaster of emotions feeling like I knew what I was doing, to feeling like a failure, and in the whole process confusing my family about what to eat and what not to eat, and at the end of it not much had changed.
In August of 2016, I was searching for a nutritional product that I could add into mine and my family’s day to boost up our immune systems, but because of my education background, I needed to find something that was not from an isolated or synthetic source because then I would just be paying for expensive pee, and in the process doing more harm to my system than good. Finally, I found something that was safe for me & for my children that allowed me to get 30 different GMO-free plants into our systems without ANY warning label attached to it and within a month I started to notice my energy levels increasing, I was losing weight, and around the 4-6 month mark my hair started to grow back! On top of that, it has been 2 full school seasons and my children haven’t had to be on an antibiotic or have a doctor’s visit because of a cold! Adding in daily nutritional products, along with some simple lifestyle changes is what has helped me make the shift for better health & I want to share and help others do the same.
